I've got two variants of the same card, one about 3 years older than the
other:

    * ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE] (rev 01) [older]
    * ATI Technologies Inc RV350 AS [Radeon 9550] [new]

Right now the first one (was in my desktop) is in the Shuttle box (thus
the name "shuttlecraft"), and the new second one is now in my desktop.
No particular reason for either placement.

I've got two ways to connect it to the TV, either via an S-Video cable
or a 15-pin VGA cable. I find the latter looks much crisper than the
S-Video does, and is probably how I'd like to hook it up.

It occurs to me that I'd be losing the benefit of the PVR-350's on-board
mpeg2 decoder, so the cpu will be doing a lot more work. It's an AMD
1.1GHz chip with a 256k cache. Don't yet know how it'd perform playing
a recording whilst recording at the same time.

But the ability to have a 1366x768 (or 1360x768 or whatever) resolution
display, thus making 16:9 aspect for playback look correct, is certainly
appealing.
