Agreed, mythtvsetup was a tedious exercise, that's for sure.

I don't know if a copy of my dumped database would be of any use, but
I'll be happy to put a compressed copy up for you to snag if you want to
try importing it to see how things play out.  You'll still need the
RedEye bit to show up to be able to change the channels.
