You'll get the best quality with DVI->HDMI
But you may encounter other problems, namely overscan (the tv doesn't
display everything so certain sides are cut by different amounts).
This is fairly easy to solve - It takes about 15-30mins of messing with
window sizes in something like mplayer, to give you x & y coords and a
correct window size.
These can be used in mplayer/vlc/mythtv/(xine?) to output a correct size.
Again, didn't have much look on ATI front doing any of this, so would
recommend nVidia.
