No, it doesn't prevent the normal NTL remote from doing its job.  You
just need to make sure you're not set up to record something...I've got
plenty of things which showed the babysitter (watching the normal TV
rather than thru the MythTV box) flipping around to reach one of the
music channels after it had started to record something. :-)
