I think the callsign is what appears beneath the number when you're 
looking at th program guide while watching TV, and it's also used under 
the number on the left-hand column in the mythweb listings.

Nope, the XMLTV ID is what the grabber uses.

Yup, you enter them in the Channel Editor of the mythtvsetup program.  I 
believe the xmltv grabbers are supposed to help take care of getting 
them and the rest, but I don't know any of the specifics about how/if 
this works.
