[myth-ie] mythtv + sky

Hi,
I ran a MythTV box with terrestrial cable for a few years. I moved
house, and now the only option is Sky. I assume, for instance, that my
PVR-350 card is useless in this case.
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how hard it is to get Myth
working with a vanilla Sky box? I read some time ago that some Sky
boxes have an rs-232 port and you can actually get the Myth remote to
change the Sky channel without too much trouble. But a quick Google
didn't offer much help on how to do that, and I don't have the kind of
intuitive understanding of how digital cable works compared to old
fashioned terrestrial, so I'm not really sure even how to begin.
To be honest, I don't particularly care if I use MythTV or not -- but
I've GOT to get time shifting back in my life, and I just can't stomach
giving Rupert Murdoch any more of my money. So I'd be very curious to
hear about other options that exist in Ireland.
I should probably read the archives more carefully before posting this... :)
Thanks for any advice,
Eric
