No luck, same result --- after installing video4linux-kmdl-$KVER, I get
the same messy display as before with Mythdora.  The suggestion on

that it will just work is wrong.

I'm putting back my old disk, parking the two new ones away, and
revisiting this sometime in the future.  I'm apparently fucked when my
overworked 250GB disk finally gives in to peer pressure and dies on me.
