yup, that was it.  I am puzzled.  I took the example from the web page and I 
thought it would strip off the .html.

Now I need to figure out how I'm going to organize everything.  The basic layout 
of pages is going to be

common
menu
section    page
=======
page       content
specific
menus


so the thought was to put pieces in html_fragments and organize the pages by 
different out statements.  In trying to figure out what was going on, I 
incorporated different files from HTML_fragments into the body of the wmk file.

I'm really not sure what's the best way to go.  It's not that huge site (20/30 
pages edited by committee) so I could go either way.  Guidance would be welcome.

that reminds me.  do you lock files when editing?
