It will work in the case where all the pages you want are one type, such 
as leaf pages, and all the pages you don't want are another type, such 
as node pages. If the child pages are a mix of leaf and node pages, that 
shouldn't work.

I was looking for a variable that I had seen once, possibly called 
"level", that showed what level of the site the page in question is on. 
That could be used to filter out all pages above a particular level.

Can you point me to the right place in the docs?
